The Gracie jiu-jitsu was created in Brazil, in the early part of this century. This technique was pioneered by Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Carlos Gracie, who studied traditional Japanese jiu-jitsu as a teenager under the great Japanese champion, Mitsuyo Maeda.
